A new mob has appeared in Minecraft and it is available right now. Last fall, the Minecraft community was outraged by the results of a mob vote conducted in anticipation of update 1.21. Players were given the opportunity to vote for three options for introducing a new mob: a crab, a penguin or an armadillo. The results were close, the battleship won, and after the results were announced, some fans began to express concerns that a bot had interfered in the voting. The creator of Mojang responded to these concerns by assuring Minecraft players that he is "confident that this year's winner accurately reflects the voting results" in an official statement. Now, a few months later, the controversial mob has arrived in the game and we have the details.

The creators of Minecraft announced today that the Armored Paws update for the building game is now available in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and Minecraft: Java Edition, and includes a new mob in Minecraft battleship, wolf armor and eight new wolf variations.

Armadillos are found in dry, dusty wastelands and savannah biomes and contain the "scoot" item. Players hoping to collect Scuta from armadillos will have to approach them with caution, as they will drop them as they move through the environment or when the player touches them while passing by. If you move towards them too quickly, the armadillos will curl up into cubes.

Along with the drop of armadillos, wolf armor was added, which allows players to better protect their comrades from danger. This armor comes in a variety of colors, although Mojang notes that it should be easier to differentiate between wolves now that there are eight different variations. Among them are the "pale wolf" (a renamed original version of the wolf), as well as spotted, snow, striped, chestnut, rusty, ash and black wolves, which live in different biomes of Minecraft.
