Back in January, we told you about Covenant.dev's upcoming dark fantasy RTS Gord. The team has released a new 16-minute gameplay video showcasing some of Gord's gameplay mechanics, as well as some of the creature designs inspired by the Slavic folklore that influenced the game.

Directed by Stan Just, Gord Game Director and Covenant.dev CEO, the video highlights Gord's "unique combination of city building, community management and player-driven adventure mechanics, and the wealth of choice players will have every playthrough of the game's campaign and fully customizable Custom Scenarios mode."

The video also highlights some of the structures that players can build, and how settlements (known in the game as "Prouds") can be customized with various buildings, such as a combat training center, to gain access to more well-equipped units. and a temple to enhance their magical abilities. Just also talks about Gord's emphasis on personal stories, explaining how each villager's unique personality, attributes, and actions can directly impact players' decisions and the long-term social dynamics of their community.

Of course, there were some battles. In this case, the player will have to clear a swamp infested with creatures, using an arsenal of brutal melee weapons and powerful spells with corresponding terrible results.

Gord is in development at Steam.
