While you're wondering if Harry Potter is in "Hogwarts Legacy", there is a whole universe of characters and legends that could be included in the prequel role-playing game "World of Wizards". In fact, it appears that one of the ancestors of one of the book series' main characters is making his way into the open-world game, as the behind-the-scenes video mentions him in some early footage.
The Harry Potter character in question is none other than the Weasleys, and it appears that the family's genetic predisposition to unmistakable red hair is also taken into account. It is currently unknown if or in what capacity these Weasleys will make it into the final game, as for all we know, this could just be a cheeky behind-the-scenes Easter egg for fans.
A character named Hector Weasley appeared in an XpectoGO video in which host James Whitehead reached out to developer Avalanche as part of a recent Hogwarts Legacy gameplay video that went into detail about combat and character creation.
At one point in the video, Whitehead is in a conference room talking to some of the developers.Hogwarts Legacy" while the gameplay is playing on the TV in the background. But if you boost the quality to 4K and watch around the 7:10 mark, you can clearly see a red head with the name Hector Weasley. You can watch the video below in English.
Again, this doesn't prove that the Weasleys or any other ancestors of the main Harry Potter characters will be heavily involved in the game, but it's a fun Easter egg anyway. It also doesn't appear that any Hector Weasley has been previously mentioned in Harry Potter canon, especially in the 1800s, so Avalanche won't be stepping on any history rake with that character.
I don't think that in "Hogwarts Legacy" a Weasley companion or something similar will appear, but I could see this character appearing in the background for a lesson or two, maybe even with a voice line.
