If you are looking for mods and want to completely change the magic in Skyrim and add new schools of magic, then I have just such a collection of mods for you. Modder 'Kittytail' has loaded the RPG with a series of magic mods throughout 2023, with two already released in 2024, that give you a wide range of brand new magic spells. Despite the wide popularity of these mods, I have collected the coolest and newest of them this year in one place.
Skyrim mods for the Bethesda game's magic system are often some of the best, giving you entirely new ways to interact with the world, fight bandits, and develop your building over your multiplayer playthrough. That's where Skyrim modder Kittytail comes in, and he's spent most of 2023 and now most of 2024 bringing you some great magical updates to the RPG that I'd like to talk about.
This year we have already received the Frostbitten Dreams and Dark Hierophant schools of magic, which add 15 spells each from two schools of magic. The visuals and mechanics of these spells are unlike anything I've seen in a game before, which shouldn't come as a surprise to the same person who brought Witcher spells to Skyrim.
Also coming in 2023 are the eldric magic of Abyssal Tides, as well as the poison spells of Abyssal Wind, the frost-elemental spells of Winter Wonderland, and the multi-school Obscure Magic set. This is just the tip of the iceberg that contains Kittytail mod packs, each of which has been downloaded tens of thousands of times.
