If you managed to get your hands on Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition, then the FTAC Recon is one of the best guns available at the start of an FPS game as it can be fully equipped with attachments from the start. This gives you the opportunity to increase magazine capacity and improve the battle rifle in a number of key areas.
The limited ammo capacity of the FTAC Recon makes this weapon hard to recommend for beginners, but the incredible firepower can be devastating in the right hands. If you are not confident in your abilities, you may want to play tactically, avoiding getting under fire from the enemy team.

Perhaps the most important attachment in the entire build is the 15 Round Mag, which increases the amount of ammo in each magazine. Remember that the stock FTAC Recon only has ten rounds per clip, so it's a huge improvement, even if it doesn't look that impressive on paper. However, this addition comes with some downsides, including a reduction in weapon mobility in the form of movement speed, aim speed, reload speed, and rate of fire.
As with Modern Warfare 2's best battle rifles, the FTAC Recon benefits from improved kill rates. This is where the 16,5" Bull Rider barrel comes in, improving bullet speed, recoil control and range to give the weapon the ability to kill faster and farther than before. Like the magazine, this negatively impacts the FTAC's mobility, slowing movement speed, aiming speed, and recoil control.
Attach the Sakin ZX Grip to improve recoil control and ensure accuracy when firing multiple bursts at a distance. The grip degrades the aiming stability of the FTAC, but not enough that you can feel it during combat. To improve recoil stabilization and aiming stability under the barrel, we opted for the Edge-47 Grip. There is a slight degradation in the descent speed of the scope, but again, this is not something you should notice in the game. Finally, the Cronen Mini Pro is perfect for this build as it provides clear optics when lining up shots.
