If you're longing for shareware and demo CDs, the Super Rare Mixtape series is just right for you. Each installment in the series is a large collection of carefully curated mainstream indie titles, with the final installment coming out October 6th with a brand new dose of underground goodness.
Super Rare Mixtape Vol. 4 includes a smorgasbord of genre clashes. There are horror shooters, romance racing games and, of course, a selection of games reminiscent of the early PS1 era of the early 2000s. For game history fans, the collection includes 38 art galleries, 18 developer audio diaries, and 19 soundtracks designed to help preserve the history of each game.
It comes on a USB stick in the form of a classic cassette - for younger viewers, it was the plastic things we stored the music on. The tape is packaged in a glossy slim box that will look good on a shelf with any other physical game media you've collected, and includes a full-color manual (with pages dedicated to each game in the collection).
