Fallen Leaf and Black Drakkar Games have finally announced that their sci-fi horror Fort Solis is coming to PS5 and PC via Steam August 22. The announcement is accompanied by a new "Welcome to Fort Solis" gameplay trailer, which takes players on a tour of the titular mining station.

When creating the station, special care was taken to create an object that could plausibly accept a command while remaining indifferent enough to "drive you crazy." Fort Solis Station is a product of corporate industry, a massive and inhospitable base located in the blood-red wasteland of the Martian desert.

“With Fort Solis, we wanted the setting to become the character,” says James Tinsdale, game director for Fallen Leaf. “Sci-fi horror is the setting for many of cinema's greatest, most chilling set pieces. Much like the Nostromo from Alien or the titular ship from Solaris, we wanted Fort Solis to create its own hostile tone - an abandoned mining station hit by a sandstorm. The environment of Fort Solis is an integral part of the story we tell, so revitalizing it was one of our top priorities.”

In Fort Solis, you take on the role of engineer Jack Leary, who spends the longest night of his life at an isolated mining base on Mars. Explore Fort Solis at your own pace, gathering clues in its bunkers, labs, crew quarters, and harsh, rugged terrain to uncover the mysterious fate that befell its inhabitants. As the night gets longer, events escalate, spiral out of control, and the mystery of what's really going on deepens.
