Valorant player Nishil Shah set a new bar by defeating his rivals from his hospital bed on a low-level gaming rig. Valorant players are highly dedicated at the best of times, and thanks to Riot's small-scale tournaments and tracks, aspiring FPS pros have found a way to realize their dreams. But the competition at the grassroots level is very high, and sometimes you have to play from your hospital bed to keep up. Riot's direct control helps maintain order at a higher level, but Valorant college is a different story.

Nishil Shah made Valorant history by taking out college enemies while hospitalized.

Shah competes in the Collegiate Valorant Circuit from Old Dominion University, Virginia. Unfortunately, his team's journey to CVAL was jeopardized when Nishil was admitted to the hospital due to a medical emergency. He was in bed with pancreatitis and was not in the best physical condition. Naturally, ODU first tried to request a game transfer, but was unsuccessful. West Virginia Wesleyan Esports, ODU's rivals, refused to change the time.

«People laugh at the GC scene but it's really nothing compared to what I see in college every day. Immeasurable egos of players with zero experience, Esport directors arguing like kids on the timeline, teams refusing emergency reschedules when a player is in intensive care"Nishil's teammate.

However, nothing changed for ODU as the team still managed to beat them outright. ODU took a 2-0 lead with Nishil as their star player who played on low ping and below average gaming hardware. His gaming table was a tray of food, and his mouse pad was the sleeve of his sister's laptop. However, Nishil destroyed enemies on his laptop, setting a new bar in Valorant's grind culture.

His CVAL tournament was not Nishil's only win that day. The aspiring pro also made it to Riot's eye, earning a coveted fist for a friendly handshake and a few extra Valorant points for shopping. So while competing in sickness may not have been a stellar experience, Nishil certainly made the most of it.
