Lovecraft fans dreaming of online co-op action, rejoice. Dragonis Games has announced the imminent release of Eresys, a 4-player co-op game inspired by Lovecraft, which will be released в Steam 20 April.
The plot of Eresys is that an exiled cultist opened a Nether portal on an isolated island, resulting in the death of the inhabitants and himself. You and your fellow cultists need to send the entity back to where it came from and seal the portal. You will need to obtain the sources needed to complete the altar sacrifice and complete the final ritual to send the entity back and seal the portal before it's too late.
Obviously, this is not as easy as it seems. In Eresys, you need to work as a team in order not only to complete the task, but also to survive. You will have to collect the missing pages of the Necronomicon, as well as collect vials and blood from corpses for sacrifice on the altars. Altars reward players with the Blood Orbs needed to complete the final ritual. You can also collect items that can be cursed and cause unexpected events.
As you progress through the mission in Eresys, you will have to face unspeakable horrors, including the main entity and other minions who pursue their own goals. You will have to use lanterns to burn enemies and protect your group, but keep an eye on the oil level in the lanterns.
Luckily, fighting them isn't your only option, as you'll be able to use stealth mechanics to avoid detection and get around your enemies. If one of you does die, your teammates will be able to pick up the dead player's head and place it on the wax figure to bring them back. To top it all off, Eresys has multiple endings that depend on the player's choices and actions.
