Community events exploit Destiny 2 Eliksni Quarter allows players to generate an infinite number of map fragments, which can then be donated as part of the Eliksni Quarter event currently in-game. This exploit could help explain why the 400 million treasure event already exceeded its target within one day of its launch.

Approximately 12 hours after the start of the community event Destiny 2 The Eliksni Quarter took about a week to complete. However, overnight donations topped 400 million to complete the event, which may be due in part to an exploit allowing players to turn in an unlimited number of map tiles in the space game.

Players could not turn in card fragments as reward currency until the community reached the first collective milestone of 40 million Captain's Coins. However, once players reached this figure, they quickly learned of an exploit that allowed them to quickly generate an unlimited number of map fragments.

Destiny Tracker shared the exploit via Twitter.

To trigger the exploit, players must have the Under One Banner update as well as the Rumored Treasure Map unlocked from the game's seasonal content. Players must then select a treasure map and then visit the donation area to donate all of their coordinates. Switching between Map and Treasure Map allows players to donate up to eight map fragments at a time.

Many players reported that they also used the exploit.

The official Bungie support Twitter account has yet to confirm the problem or mention a patch. Even if Bungie decides to fix the issue, it may be too late as players have already taken advantage of the exploit, and it looks like it will be difficult to change collections so that map fragments obtained through the exploit no longer count.

However, if Bungie patches the exploit, it may also return players' personal rewards to what they would have been had they not used the exploit.

It's also unclear if the exploit had a significant impact on the amount of currency the community generates. While the exploit is a quick and easy way to get fragments, many players also turn in their destination materials at a 1:1 ratio. Many Preservers are looking to get rid of such material now that they are worthless in Season 19. Destiny 2.
