Looking for when is the Prison Architect 2 release date? Looks like we'll have to wait a little longer to see Prison Architect in 3D. Prison Architect 2, which was originally scheduled for March 23 and then pushed back to May 7, has now been delayed again. New release date for Prison Architect 2 is now scheduled for September 3.

Publisher Paradox Interactive simply says that this delay will give the development team time to "optimize the game's memory usage," which will be important for a smooth launch.

Considering that Prison Architect 2 is a game like Rimworld or Dwarf Fortress, constantly simulating a complex community and its environment, it makes sense that memory would be a major issue in the series' move to 3D. In many genres, objects are removed from memory when the player stops looking at them or moves to another area, but in these community sims, things happen all the time—and the available memory is almost always high.

While it's a little frustrating to have to wait longer, it's ultimately good news for players. This also indicates that Paradox Interactive doesn't want a repeat of the Cities Skylines 2 launch experience and is taking steps to avoid that in Prison Architect 2.

Now that you know when Prison Architect 2 is coming out, you can while away the time with others real-time strategy.
