After the Armored Core 6 trailer confirmed that Dark Souls, Sekiro, Elden Ring and Bloodborne developer FromSoftware is returning to its robot gaming roots, many of us have been wondering how the Japanese company plans to revive the Armored Core series, and perhaps we'll start getting some responses when it hits the show soon.

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon will appear at the Taipei Game Show next February with an hour-long show, although it's not entirely clear what exactly will be shown, such as potential gameplay of Armored Core 6, and what will be revealed about FromSoftware's next Elden Ring game .

We know that Yasunori Ogura, producer of the Armored Core series and FromSoftware marketing manager, will be present at the show and will be presenting part of an hour-long show dedicated to bey furs.

The Armored Core 6 launch will take place on February 3, 2023 at 4am PST, 7am EST, 12pm GMT, 1pm CET and 11pm AEDT. You can see the show scheduled for February 3rd below.

So far, too much information (and gameplay) about the game hasn't been revealed, but we do know that FromSoftware isn't aiming to make a sword-like game, but instead is modernizing what makes the Armored Core series appealing in the first place.

"We didn't make a conscious effort to try to steer it toward Soulsborne-type gameplay," says Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki. "Let me just make this clear."

“There are no elements here that directly reference Sekiro,” says Dark Souls developer Masura Yamamura, “but I feel like both games share the same core combat feel, such as aggressiveness, change of speed, and action-oriented nature. In this game, continuing to attack even the strongest enemy, the force of the blow can break his posture and cause great damage - a critical hit."

Armored Core 6 will take you through separate 3D levels (just like previous games in the series) and let you fully customize your own mech down to incredibly intricate details. At its core, Armored Core 6 is a standalone story in the series that will require you to be proficient in both ranged and melee combat.

You can learn more about the Taipei Game Show and other games that will be on display at the official website of the event.
