The first nine minutes of Outer Banks Season 3 premiered at a Netflix fan event appropriately titled "Poguelandia." The Teen Mystery follows a group of teenagers from the divided community of the Outer Banks, an island in North Carolina, who go on a quest to find a mysterious treasure they believe is connected to the disappearance of their leader John B's father.

Drama stars Chase Stokes (John B), Madeleine Cline (Sarah), Madison Bailey (Kiara), Rudy Pankow (JJ), Jonathan Daviess (Pope), Carlasia Grant (Cleo), Drew Starkey (Rafe) and Austin North (Topper) took to the stage at the OBX themed event to give viewers an update on the upcoming events.

In a dramatic start to Season 3, the show picks up after the Pogs have lost their gold and decided to leave the Outer Banks in search of pastures new. The clip shows the Pogs adjusting to life in Pogueland—fishing, building shelter, collecting more coconuts than anyone could care to eat—and reflecting on the events that brought them to the island in the first place. But trouble always seems to be on the horizon.

Created by Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke, this season's Pogies find themselves stranded on the shores of a desert island they call Pogelandia. The teenagers begin to enjoy their seemingly heavenly vacation, immersing themselves in a luxurious lifestyle consisting mainly of swimming and fishing. However, their tropical bliss is short-lived when they stumble upon Don Carlos Singh (Andy McQueen), who believes they can help him find El Dorado, the legendary city of gold. Carlos, backed by the mafia, is ready to do anything to get the treasure. As for the Pogues, they are far from home, with no money in their pockets, and all they can rely on is each other again.

Outer Banks season 3

If that wasn't enough to guarantee a new level of tension for the upcoming installment, the show's creators explained that the previous two chapters have nothing to do with the third season. “The stakes are rising,” they said in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum. "The Pogs realize that their adventures in the first two seasons were just a prelude to the granddaddy of all treasure hunters." But it's not just a deadly treasure hunt, but a lot of unanswered questions about the fathers of John B and Sarah, who, as it turned out in a shocking revelation in the second season, are very much alive.

It looks like there will be plenty more drama to come after this series as the cast has confirmed that the series has been officially renewed for a fourth season. You can join the treasure hunt in Outer Banks Season 3, which arrives on Netflix on February 23rd. In the meantime, you can watch the first nine minutes of the first episode below.
