Looking for information about Hunters season 3? The second season of Hunters has finally arrived three years after the series debut, but Amazon Prime has no plans to return the series for season 3. Hunters premiered in February 2020 to mixed reviews, and Hunters Season 2023 finally released in January XNUMX. Considering how long it took for the second season of Hunters to premiere, it seemed like there wouldn't be a second season at all. However, the show had too many loose ends, too much of a plot, and too much of a star-studded cast not to end John's story of hunting down the Nazis.

The second season of Hunters is primarily told through two different storylines set in two different timelines. The first takes place in 1979, when Jonah and the hunters track down Adolf Hitler in Argentina, and the second takes place from 1975, when he first begins killing Nazis, until 1977, when he orders the murder of Ruth Heidelbaum, played by Al Pacino's Meyer Offerman (revealed at the end of the first season of Hunters as the Nazi Wilhelm Suchs, aka "The Wolf").

Hunters Season 3 provides a satisfying conclusion to both stories, which series creator David Weill noted in an interview with EW will provide "catharsis" and Jewish empowerment. While a somewhat open ending could lead to Jonah's new Nazi-hunting adventures, Hunters season XNUMX will not be released on Amazon.

Prime Video announced season 2 of “Hunters” as its final one

Season 3 Hunters

At the same time that the second season of Hunters received an official release date, Prime Video confirmed that the second episode will be the last for the series. Amazon hasn't confirmed exactly why Hunters was cancelled, but the announcement comes alongside confirmation that neo-noir fantasy Carnival Row will also be one of the Amazon TV shows ending in 2023 after just two seasons. Not only did Hunters season two end faster than expected, but the second season only received an eight-episode order, compared to the first season's 10 episodes.

Considering that the Season 3 finale of Hunters revealed that infamous Nazis Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun are still alive and hiding in Argentina, it seems natural that the series would end with the biggest hunt of all. Hunters didn't have to wait another two seasons for Jonah and his cohorts to track down Hitler and bring him to justice; once they found him, putting him on trial immediately was the right move for the series. Jonah, Millie, Harriet, Lonnie, Roxy, Joe and Mindy successfully locked the guilty Hitler in a cell for the rest of his life, so the cathartic conclusion to Hunters Season XNUMX made Season XNUMX less necessary for the story.

What could Season 3 of The Hunters be about?

Season 3 Hunters

Hunters Season 3 would likely have followed the plot of the first season, with a group of hunters pursuing other Nazis around the world who have not been brought to justice. However, instead of Hitler, Wilhelm Zucks, or Colonel/Eva Braun, the main villain of Hunters Season 3 would likely have been Travis, the evil neo-Nazi who escaped in the Season XNUMX finale. In the Season XNUMX finale of Hunters, Travis' whereabouts are left unclear, leaving the series with a big mystery about how his plans to lead the Fourth Reich will be thwarted.

However, the final scene, in which Jonah subtly tracks down another Nazi at a Miami restaurant, suggests that he will eventually find Travis and foil the villain's plans. The second season of Hunters ends with the idea that Hitler may be in prison, but evil is not dead, so there will inevitably be new villainous Nazis that the heroes will need to track down and end. As the finale suggests, Jonah and his cohorts will continue their dangerous work in Hunters Season 3 and beyond, stopping only when every Nazi has been exposed and held accountable for their crimes.
