Supergiant Games made it a point with the first game to take the mythos and expand the characters in modern and believable ways, so expect some changes to what we know.
Greek gods that are in Hades 2:
Melinoe
We open our list of all gods and characters Hades 2 with a rather interesting character. Melinoe - sister of Zagreus and daughter of Hades Hades 2, as well as the main character of the game. Although its history in the ancient world is a little hazy, one Orphic hymn written about 2 years ago tells us a little about it. With black limbs on one side and white on the other, she was responsible for appeasing the ghosts of the dead.
The twin black and white limbs of the goddess were apparently meant to symbolize her division between the underworld and the heavenly world. All we know about Melinoe is that she is described as the daughter of Persephone and Hades (sometimes called a variation of Zeus), and she was strongly associated with the ghosts of the dead. Some also believe that Melinoe was an Orphic title for Hecate, although she appears as a separate god Hades 2.
Aphrodite
The mythology of Aphrodite is perhaps one of the most famous. The goddess of love and fertility, Aphrodite is known to have been born from a suggestive substance that emerged from the severed genitals of Uranus. The genitals were supposed to have been thrown into the sea by Kronos, son of Ouranos, and thus Aphrodite became known as the goddess of the sea. However, the more famous representation of the goddess of love is used in Hades 2: Aphrodite appears as a beautiful naked woman with pink skin and luxurious pink hair covering her body.
It is known that Aphrodite was betrothed to Hephaestus, who also appears in Hades 2. Given the incompatibility of the relationship, Aphrodite allegedly began an affair with Ares, the god of war. Given Aphrodite's relationships with Kronos and Hephaestus, it is possible that her history with the other two characters Hades 2 will be more detailed. Although Ares was in Hades, we don't know yet whether the god of war will appear in Hades 2.
Apollo

Hades
Although Hades is the name of the underworld itself, we also know that Hades is the god of the underworld and supposedly the father of Melinous. Although all relationships in Greek mythology are quite complicated, Hades's is perhaps the most complex, as he is related to most of the other gods and characters. Hades 2.
Spoiler alert: if you don't already know, in Greek mythology, Hades is not Melinoe's father, as another god (who we won't name, but you can find him online) took the form of Hades to deceive Melinoe's mother, Persephone. Will this be shown in Hades 2, or what role Hades himself will play remains to be seen.
Hecate
If we consider Hecate as a separate entity from Melinoe, as Supergiant does in Hades 2, as a woman dressed in black, she is the goddess of magic, spells, the moon and the night. It seems that in Hades 2 Hecate will help Melinoe in her fight against Kronos (who we will talk about later), teaching her witchcraft and fighting techniques.
According to many modern plays of Euripides and Aristophanes, shrines to Hecate were placed at the entrances of houses to ward off witchcraft and evil. We can also see connections to other gods from the first Hades, since in myths Hecate helped Demeter look for her daughter Persephone after she was kidnapped by Hades.
Homer's Hymn to Demeter also states that Hecate was Persephone's companion when she went to the underworld to spend a third of all yeast with Hades (Greek myths are a bit confusing, don't worry about that), and Hecate's leadership was often depicted as a torch.
Kronos
Kronos - the villain of the gods Hades 2, enclosed in a chain at the end of the trailer and acting as the driving force of the narrative called "time itself."
The god of time and king of the Titans, Kronos, devoured his children, except Zeus, in fear of a prophecy that said that he would be overthrown by his own son. Zeus later saved his siblings and imprisoned Kronos, but later freed him and made him ruler of the Elysian Islands (which, in fact, served as inspiration for the third floor of the original Hades), where the heroes went by the gods after death.
Being the father of both Zeus and Hades, the god of time is probably a little angry that he was imprisoned. Although the circumstances are with the gods Hades 2 may be different, I would venture that Hades' imprisonment is a form of revenge, and Kronos' relationship over time could potentially play into a recurring roguelike element in Hades 2 - time travel perhaps? Lord Moros
The Greek god Moros, or "Death Incarnate", appears in Melinoe after several deaths, which is associated with his mythology of doom, death and his own immortality. Moros is also the son of Nyx, Zagreus's adoptive mother in the original Hades, so it's not too surprising that Moros is eager to help Melinoe, since they most likely already had a relationship. In the first game, Ares helped you cast Doom, but it's unclear if Moros will be related to that.
Nemesis
Nemesis, which I am sure already haunts fans of Lady Dimitrescu, is described in Hades 2 as Retribution Incarnate. The goddess of vengeance and retribution, Nemesis is essentially good old fashioned retribution.
While this is sometimes disputed, it is widely believed that she is also Nyx's child, potentially further linking Nemesis to the first Hades. One of the most famous myths that Nemesis is associated with is about Narcissus, a handsome hunter who was terrible to all his admirers, so Nemesis lured him into a swimming pool, where he fell in love with his own reflection and eventually died because he could not keep him away. look (mood).

Demeter

Hestia
Hestia is the goddess of the hearth, daughter of Hyperion and Theia, sister of Helios, Selene, Eos, Demeter and Hera. Together with her sisters, Demeter and Hera, Hestia went over to the side of Zeus and helped him defeat the Titans. After the war, Hestia became one of the 12 Olympian deities.
She will appear in Hades 2 and will offer his benefits to his great-niece Melinoe in the fight against Chronos.
Hypnos
Hypnos is the embodiment of sleep. He is one of Nyx's many children and the younger twin brother of Thanatos. He watches the procession of newly arrived shadows walk before Hades, crossing their names off his list. He is often seen sleeping at his workplace.
He most often encounters Zagreus when the prince is killed and returns to the House through the Pool of Styx, and often gives unhelpful advice and quips about what enemy or elemental force killed Zagreus.
Poseidon
Poseidon is the god of the sea and horses, sometimes called the “earth shaker.” Like many other Olympians, he gives Zagreus bonds that greatly increase the damage of his abilities, as well as making his abilities knockback.
Poseidon's bonds provide the 3rd highest damage percentage increase in Hades, as well as the ability to knock down enemies, dealing additional damage from breaking walls or traps.
Poseidon Buns are one of the only ones that offer Artifact Currency and increase the rate at which you can obtain it. Only Dionysus has this feature.
Poseidon's cast, Flood Shot, is often a prerequisite for receiving duobons, making it a notable choice for those who prioritize casting.
Zeus
Zeus is the god of sky and thunder, ruler of the Olympian gods. Zeus is the younger brother of Hades and the uncle of Zagreus. He gives his nephew boons that grant him the abilities of chain lightning or lightning strike.
Zeus' abilities allow him to deal damage to groups of enemies, as the chain lightning effect spreads between enemies, and the lightning strike can hit several enemies at once.
Charon
Charon is a boatman on the River Styx, responsible for ferrying the souls of the dead across the river to the underworld. In Greek mythology, as payment for his services, he demanded one obol, which was placed in the mouth before burial, otherwise the soul would remain wandering along the banks of the Styx for a hundred years.
