Resident Evil 4 Remake Chapter 8

At the end of chapter 7, Ashley will escape. So, Leon now has to go and find her somewhere in the damn castle.

After the call, Ingrid the Merchant will be on your right. Say hello and save if needed.

Once you're done with the Merchant, head up the stairs outside of his lair. You will reach a room where some kind of ritual is being performed. Jump over the gate ahead and enter another room with a locked door.

You will notice that of the two statues by the door, only one is holding a lantern. We need to get a second one to continue! Make your way through the fabric curtains here to encounter a whole bunch of enemies, including a lot of vermin.

Use flashbang grenades and explosive barrels around the room to kill everyone. Most importantly, do not forget to search all the bodies afterwards, as one corpse will possess the Crimson Lantern we need.

The lantern is usually found on the Ganado, which is decorated with red draperies. During one run it dropped out of another Ganado for me and I don't know if it should.

Return to the locked door, place the lantern and go through it. In the next room, go left up the stairs and into the bookbinding shop.

After the cutscene, look at the door by the open window; this requires the three missing lithographic stones. Find three stones in the room.

One of the tablets is on the bookshelf next to this door.

The second tablet is in a glass cabinet in the corner of the room.

The third tablet is on a pile of books by the door through which we entered the room.

Place the stones on the door. The door obviously won't open right away, as we need to solve a small puzzle first. Essentially, we need to match the symbol and shape on the four stones with the corresponding ones on the door.

The only problem is that the symbols and shapes on the door wear out over time, which means we'll have to use our deduction (or trial and error) skills.

After placing the signs on the doors, we need to rotate a few of them. Essentially, lithographic stones should show the following characters in the following position.

  • On the right is an orange knight inside a hexagon.
  • On the left is a Black Sword, inside a square.
  • Above - an orange shield, inside a square.
  • Below - black armor, inside a hexagon.

Once placed, the door will open. Keep going forward and deal with insectoid enemies and ganados. Insects will explode upon death, so try not to let them surround you.

Climb down to be with the Merchant and the Typewriter again. Destroy the cargo in this room to open the gate and head outside. Shoot another load here to lower the bridge and move forward. Now you know how to solve the Lithographic Stones puzzle in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Where to find Ashley in Chapter 8 Resident Evil 4 Remake

This is where things start to get confusing. Pull the first lever you see to open the gate, then head up the stairs. Pull the second lever and the previous gate will close and the new one will open. These are the basics of how these levers work, and there are many.

As a warning, the abundance of levers we have to fiddle with can be confusing, but remember that the great thing about Resident Evil games is that our path is mostly linear.

Now, instead of going down the stairs, jump down the stairs again. New gates are open! Walk forward and jump down. Instead of going forward, go back. To the right of this area is another lever that needs to be pulled.

Pull this lever, turn around and go through the gate directly behind you.

Turn around and go through the gate behind you.

Climb the next wall and pull the lever to your left.

Go through the next gate and to the right of it there is another lever that will close this gate again.

Pull this lever and ignore the next one you come across. Go up and out!

Climb up, ignore the next lever and climb up again. Once outside, you may have noticed that somehow the enhanced El Gigante is here. Jump down the stairs to your left and run forward. Jump down when you reach a dead end.

Instead of going forward, go back and pull the lever.

Once you pull this lever, exit, go up the nearest ladder and go right.

Exit through the newly opened gate, go up the stairs and go right.

Now the gate is open here, which means that we can destroy one more cargo to open the cannon. Then return to the cannon on the stairs to destroy another cargo.

You know what to do next. Approach the cannon, tell El Gigante who is the boss here, and blow up the door on your left.

Go to the exit and return to the castle. When you're outside again, continue through the brown door ahead.

After reuniting with Ashley, we can finally complete Chapter 8!
