There are five unique elements that you can put on your weapons or use as spells in combat. Each of them has certain status effects that you can place on your enemies, and there is also a chance that these enemies can apply similar effects against you.
These are all the elements that you can use against your enemies in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
- Burns: This is caused by a fire weapon or a spell. When it reaches its maximum threshold on you or an enemy, the target will take damage over time. The way to cure this is a water-based buff or a combat roll.
- Chills: Called by an ice weapon or spell. When you fully charge this against an opponent, or an enemy against you, it reduces your resistance to the stone and increases the time it takes to charge the spirit recovery bar after using heavy spirit attacks. You can cure this with a positive Earth buff.
- Heaviness: This is caused by a stone weapon or a spell. When the bar fills up against you or an opponent, the target's lightning resistance will be reduced. They take increased Spirit damage and also reduce the amount of Spirit gained when attacking or defending. You can cure this with the Wood Phase buff.
- Poison: Called by a weapon or spell containing toxins. When the gauge fills up, it reduces fire resistance and gradually reduces the health and spirit of the target. This can be cured with a Fire Phase buff.
- Shock: This is caused by a weapon or spell based on lightning. When the gauge fills up, it reduces resistance to toxins and gradually reduces the growth of the spirit. This can be cured with a metal buff.
