How to get climbing gear in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
A complete set of climbing gear in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom consists of three pieces of armor; climbing top, climbing boots and climbing bandana.
This special outfit will increase Link's climbing speed so he can get to the top of the mountain even faster. In addition, the stamina consumed when jumping while climbing is also reduced.
Where to find climbing equipment
In order to grab the climbing gear in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, we need to head to the cave. First things first, fast Journey to Sinakawak Sanctuary from New Serenne Stable. This stable can be found in North Hyrule Plain if you haven't visited it yet.
From Sinakawak Temple, head east into the fields in front of it. You will stumble upon a hole in the ground at the coordinates -1239, 0771, 0099 which we have shown below.
Drop down this hole and you'll find the North Hyrule Plain. Fight the nearby Bubbulfrog to get the Bubbul Gem and then head forward into the cave until you get to Horroblin.
When you encounter Horroblin, don't go deeper into the cave. Instead, look at the waterfall behind the enemy, inside of which is a Bright Cap glowing.
From the top of the waterfall where the bubble frog was, you can jump right into it and swim after it. There will be a secret area with an altar with a chest. In the chest, of course, there is Climbing to the top of the gear we came here for. Voila!
This garment is also part of the famous Misko treasure.
Where to find climbing boots
The climbing boots in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be found in another cave, but this one is in the Lanayru area. Start by fast travel to Zoran's skyscraper on high ground.
From the tower, glide south to the very base of the mountain on which it stands. If you head towards the light blue pin marked on the map below, you will soon find the Upland Zorana Byroad Cave.
To enter the cave, destroy the creepers with a sharp weapon. Once you're inside, walk forward until you see an exit. Instead of leaving, turn around. On the right, you will see another platform with the word “Rock Like” written on it. Swim across and climb up.
From the ledge, press forward and head down until you reach the ruins. Head to the other side of the room and use the Ultrahand to open the gate, which will then empty the room.
Once the water is drained, look under the stairs to Link's right, where you'll find another fancy chest by the altar.
Open it up and Climbing boots yours! We now have one more piece of climbing equipment that we can grab.
Where to find a climbing bandana
To get the Climbing Bandana in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, fast travel to Ihen-a shrine at the court of Mifa. If you haven't been there yet, then this is the top of Mount Ploimus near the domain of Zora, in the Lanayru region.
Now you need to zoom out on the southwest side of the mountain and head towards the blue pin marked on the map above. This is the entrance to the Ploymus mountain cave, coordinates 3672, 0539, 0272.
This cave is quite difficult to navigate, as everything is wet and slippery. This is where anti-slip frog armor or some anti-slip elixirs come in handy.
You can also create something to move around this place. For example, I built a balloon, climbed into the cave as far and as high as possible and flew to its end. Easy.
Go to the very end of the cave, where you will eventually reach a large platform with purple glowing stones. Just around the corner is another shiny chest by the altar.
Open it and you will get the last piece of climbing equipment and this climbing bandana.
