An Activision Blizzard spokesperson said the company is considering paying compensation for the Diablo Immortal gems following the outrage caused by the fantasy game's recent update. Update 1.6.2 Diablo Immortal brought a number of changes to Blizzard's RPG, but one of the most controversial was the change in the description of one of the legendary Diablo Immortal gems sold in the in-game store.

An update to the Diablo Immortal Blessing of the Worthy gem clarifies that its effect provides bonus damage based on the character's current life, rather than their total life as stated in the description. Obviously, this can be a pretty significant difference - especially for characters like barbarians who have a large amount of hit points but use skills like Undying Rage to keep fighting when they're down to just 1 HP.

This issue was exacerbated by the fact that the gem was offered for sale in multiple bundles in Diablo Immortal's in-game store, allowing players to spend real money - over $100 USD if you choose to buy all bundles on offer - to level up the gem. As a result, players who purchased the gem have demanded that Blizzard refund their purchase, or at least provide the equivalent value of Diablo Immortal Eternal Orbs as compensation for the item, which they believe was sold to them under false pretenses.

Diablo Immortal SinfulScribe Community Manager has now provided обновление on the matter, stating that Blizzard is "investigating issues related to the accuracy of the descriptions of some Legendary Gems." They emphasize that the team understands "how important the effects of these gems are to player creation and development" and that it is "investigating the impact of these issues so that we can provide compensation to affected players."

As for what that compensation will be and when it might be received, SinfulScribe explains that the investigation "will require some time and data" but says that "once we have more details on how we will proceed, we will share them with you." Players in the comments express gratitude for the news, but note that too much time has passed both to resolve the discrepancy and to comment on the possibility of compensation after the update.
