Pumpkin in Minecraft are a great way to decorate, but they're not just for Halloween - they're one of the most versatile blocks in Minecraft with a few unexpected uses. They spawn naturally in most green biomes, but require a block of grass with air above it to spawn. They also spawn naturally in some villages and farm rooms in woodland mansions, but they're particularly hard to find - thankfully, we've identified a Minecraft seed that spawns you just a hundred blocks from one.

You'll also find carved pumpkins - spooky siblings of regular pumpkins - in the train rooms in the forest mansions. Carved Pumpkins spawn at Plunder Outposts inside tents along with normal Pumpkins and on stuffed animals. Pumpkins also generate instead of hay bales outside the taiga and snowy taiga villages. There are even more ways to get your hands on a pumpkin - they have a 15,6% chance to be found in chests inside shipwrecks, and you can buy it from the Traveling Trader.

There is another way to get a carved pumpkin - if a hostile Minecraft mob spawns during Halloween, there is a chance it will spawn with a carved pumpkin on its head. In order to steal a pumpkin, you will have to kill it with a tool that you have added loot to on the Minecraft enchantment table. The chances of it dropping are pretty low - you're better off carving your own, which we'll explain how to do below before guiding you through the various uses of a Minecraft pumpkin, but spotting a pumpkin-headed mob during spooky season is still pretty funny.

Minecraft Pumpkin - How to Carve a Pumpkin

Carving a pumpkin from Minecraft is very simple - use scissors on an uncut pumpkin. You will receive four pumpkin seeds, as well as a new spooky friend. It probably goes without saying, but no, you can't carve a Minecraft pumpkin - you brought it into the world and now you are responsible for it.

You can create a pumpkin lantern by combining a carved pumpkin with a torch - they give a small amount of light and can be placed underwater to illuminate the ocean floor, which is always useful.

Carved gourds are not only for decoration - they can also be used to create iron or snow golems. Place four iron blocks in a T shape and then place a carved pumpkin or pumpkin lantern on top to make your minecraft iron golem.

To make a snow golem, you must stack two snow blocks vertically and top them with a carved gourd. Take it one step further with a little-known fact. Using the scissors on the snow golem, you remove the gourd from its head, revealing a cute little charcoal face underneath.

How to make pumpkin pie in minecraft

Ah, pumpkin pie. One of the most attractive Minecraft products available, at least before you add any food-based Minecraft mods to the equation. Here's how you can bake a comforting pumpkin pie in your Minecraft kitchen (no fancy kitchen design required, but more fun).

To make pumpkin pie, mix pumpkin with sugar and egg on a workbench. It's that simple - eating one serving restores eight hunger points and 4,8 saturation points. If cooking isn't your forte, Apprentice Farming Villages can trade you for four Pumpkin Pies for an Emerald. You can also find them in chests in taiga villages.

Minecraft Pumpkin Farm

How to make a pumpkin farm in Minecraft

So now you have an addiction to pumpkin pies and you need a constant supply of pumpkins for the winter. This requires a pumpkin farm. I hope you didn't eat your last pumpkin because you will need to cut it into seeds (or place it in the crafting grid). These seeds need to be planted in wet farmland, with an empty spot next to them where a Minecraft pumpkin can plant, as like melons, they grow in a stalk and fruit on an adjacent block. One pumpkin can attach itself to two stems, which is inefficient, so you need to make sure that there is one spawn spot on each stem that doesn't overlap with a spawn spot on the other stem.

There are pumpkin farm designs of varying efficiencies, but the design above is a good place to start - it's based on a 9x9 grid. Technically, only the middle square needs to be filled with water, but you need to fill the rest of the row with something to avoid overlapping. This is a manual Minecraft pumpkin farm build - if you want to learn how to build an automated pumpkin farm, check out this guide. NaMiature on YouTube for Farm 1.19 below (Video in English). The most efficient pumpkin farms will include melons, as interleaving them prevents overlap, but you can only use pumpkins if you like.

There are some other cool things you can do with pumpkins - place one under a note block and it will generate didgeridoo sounds when the block is activated. You can also wear a carved pumpkin on your head - it will obstruct your view, but you can look at endermen without getting annoyed at you. If you're decorating your Minecraft home with pumpkins, why not add a decorative sea cucumber on top - it looks like a stalk.

So now you know how to grow a field full of pumpkins and be ready for the scary season, Thanksgiving or any other time of the year.
